An Inauguration Poem Against Fascism (A Gift for Rev. Dr. King)

Who goes and supports fascism,
uber, ultra capitalism, sexism,
racism, a rapist, a felon?

Only in the United States.
Only in rich white men’s circles.
Only in rich white men’s circles
where they wear cowboy hats,
share illegal stock tips, continue
to get away with all kinds of crimes,
disrespect, degradation, inhumanity.

Humanity is paying for your greed,
your gluttony, your glamorous life,
your gleam, your spotlight, your
privileged rights to be who you are
and do what you do.

This is billionaire voodoo
Violating all that is sacred,
precious, beautiful, earthy,
solid on Planet Earth. Your
leadership and lifestyles
are giving birth to hurts
unmanageable,
unfathomable.

Your Whitehouse Orange-Man
is ensuring Babylon will meet
its maker; ensures you are not
at all in favor of The Great
Protector.

Go ahead and smile. Smile
while you think you have it good.
Your smile will turn into a frown
soon when your destructive
nature meets its doom.

You should be in prison for all
Of the wrong you’ve done.
You’ve committed treason
against the very country you
claim to love. You only love
yourself and money.

Dr. King dreamed a dream
Opposite of your whole existence,
your thinking, your political plans,
your insane demands of other
countries and nation states.

Dr. King is turning over
In his grave, so are
the former slaves, the
indigenous people who
passed on that horrible trail,
all of the people who have
been examples of the US’s hell.

You can never be a king like King.
You do not have the mind, the heart,
the soul, the vision, the light, the love,
the leadership. You will never be equipped
to steer our nation in the right direction.

You are a disease.
You are a plague.
You are not a president.
You are not that benevolent!

In my soul, there is a song I sing.
That song is a prayer to the spirit
of Dr. King.
